I was surprised when I got the postcard from RIN. I enjoy learning about our neighbors in this world and think Projects such as this will help us to learn about cultures other than our own and maybe how to better get along with each other in harmony I shall use this link to aquaint myself and others vicariously with our "neighbors" in Russia.

I received your congratulations postcard for our American July 4th....and was surprised! I think it is great..and so different to hear from Russia....a country that has remained so isolated from us for so long! My sister has hosted a Russian boy from Kiev...he has lived here since 14 years old.. wit her...has gone to college, plays professional soccer here now....and remains in this country. Through him and his family we have come to know Russia a bit better.....I love the web site..thank you!.

Im a Turkish middle age man. My name is KAZIM. As i saw in novels i love colhoses of Soviets. Its more cooperative and holds the future strongly. I wish more and more surviver colhoses for cities and alternative life stiles for cities at vicious circle. If you ask me where i found your web site i found your web site from humour-rin.ru web site when i look for funny things.

It was a pleasant surprise to be on your mailing list (how the heck did I get there???) I visited Russia in 1989, 1992 en 2001, the Ukraine in 1994 (professionally) and in 2000. My greatest wish is to stay a couple of weeks in Russia, to boostand polish my Russian. The site is very professionally made (although the tourism section needs some adjustment; one understands very well what is being written, but it is not always and everywhere contemporary English. Some sentences are more like "Russian with English words".By the way, I have no problems with "Russia the Great". It is a great country, with great people but with (as I experienced), a lot of lousy managers, a great source of suffering for the ordinary people. One last but important remark: without the Russian (and/or Ukrainian) women Russia (Ukraine) could not have sustained (and still sustain) all the sufferings this country and its people experienced. I admire them greatly, Russia is a nation of strong women!

er. i dont get it. what the heck is the "Russian Information Network" and why are you sending e-postcards to random internet users containing poorly-worded sentences in English? not that im not a fan of eastern Europe, but... uh... i just dont get the point of this site at all. i particulaly dont understand the necessity of sending unsolicted email, either.

Thanks for the Email regarding your site. I probably would not have found it otherwise. In the 1970s, I subscribed to a magazine called Soviet Life and we really enjoyed it. (I was probably on the FBIs "radar screen" at the time. Particularly since I am retired military). Anyhow, the sheer size of the site is certainly too much to cover in one visit. I will be back. Your map and the accompanying material is very interesting. Thanks again
