According to the historical approach the Siberian land began to develop not long ago. But for last four centuries several generations of Siberians managed to work wonders and changed the region. Today it is the magnificent and rich land where representatives of different nationalities live. The history of Novosibirskaya Oblast began thanks to engineers that laid the Transsiberian Railway and chose a convenient site to build a bridge across Ob. So Novosibirsk appeared. Situated in the centre of the country, Novosibirsk is a junction of transport ways: railway, motorways, air and water lines. Some consider Siberia a snowy land. However, Novosibirskaya Oblast lies in the south of Siberia. There are bright springs, hot sunny summers, warm autumns but severe winters are rare. All this makes people fall in love with this land one and for all. But the main wealth of Novosibirskaya Oblast is its people. They develop the spiritual, intellectual, creative, scientific, economic potential of the territory. One of the main merits of Novosibirskaya Oblast for tourists is its nature. The diversity of species and landscapes is really unique. The regional centre Novosibirsk, despite of its youth (100 years), is known far outside Siberia as a large scientific and cultural centre. There is the Academical Town where the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences is situated. This is the place where epoch-making discoveries in the field of physics, chemistry and space technologies were made. It is the city of scientists, intellectuals and students. While traveling over the region one get acquainted with ancient cities of Beodsk, Suzun, Kuibyshev (Kainsk) and Kolyvan village with once noisy merchant streets and houses of XIX century.
